First IATI technical advisory group (TAG) Meeting

The IATI Technical Advisory Group (TAG) met yesterday (12th May). The TAG is a multi stakeholder group set up to provide advice and guidance to IATI. Brian Hammond formerly of DAC has been appointed as Chair of the TAG, and DIPR provide the Secretariat. We agreed 5 workstreams: 1. Scope, Definitions and Classifications; 2. Data Formats and Technical Architecture; 3. Code of conduct; 4. Donor assessments and support; and 5. Accessibility and capacity building. We have yet to finalise the leader for the workstreams. We agreed that the priority is work on workstream 1 (the scope of IATI - what information should be included in the standard) and workstream 3 (code of conduct). The objective is to finalise there by the end of the year. The plan is to have a brainstorming session on  these areas on 2/3 June in Brussels.
